Hey, uh. This is me apologizing for not making the Valentine's Dance after I said I'd try to make it. I honestly was going to, but then I suddenly realized it was Sunday afternoon, and yeah. A little too late. Didn't even actually realize that until I got up and had to check if the milk was expired or not and then looked at my calendar etc. Sooo. Yeah. Hope everyone had a blast and all that. :D
Your International Spy Name is Buck Danger |
![]() Your Code Name: Fingercuffs You Reside in: Berlin Why You're a Good Spy: You're a good liar |
You'd think I should be, you know, doing work or at least something *slightly* more constructive than really really really silly and simple surveys.
But this one amused me.
BUCK DANGER.
You Are a Witch (or Warlock) |
![]() You are deviously brilliant and a perfect manipulator. You somehow always end up getting what you want - without anyone knowing you're working behind the scenes. Crafty and cunning, you can work your way out of any jam. And it's easy for you to get people to do what you want, whether you're working for good or evil. Your greatest power: Mind control Your greatest weakness: Making people your puppets You play well with: Ghosts |
Maybe this just proves how completely right this is, but I don't see how that weakness is really all that bad.
Ouch. Worked all night last night and that's not really a problem for me, but this morning the back of my hand really hurts. Like... it feels like my veins are tense or something. Really weird. I wonder if I've finally gotten carpal tunnel? Hope not.
Seems like things have calmed down around here... There was some real weirdness going on earlier in the month, but I seemed to have... somehow avoided a lot of it. I've been getting a lot of work done, kind of been staying to myself. Which isn't abnormal for me or anything, so whatever.
Maybe I'll head out for lunch today, though, walk around town now that some of the snow has melted. Maybe I'll get some coffee? That cup at Ianto's was really good, after all. Hm.

Thank goodness for LJ spotlight.
abe_kroenen is quite possibly the funniest webcomic I've ever found, and I don't even like Hellboy (although now I want to re-watch the movies...). I've wasted (or used?) the whole day to read through perhaps half the archives. It is ridiculous.
I haven't done any work since I moved here. I suppose that's because I sent out messages before I moved, saying I'd be unavailable until further notice. So maybe I should send out a new message. It's been something of a nice break, though. Although my bank account might not agree.

So, I don't use AIM, as a rule, because it's one of the cruddier, if not the cruddiest, instant message programs out there. That said, I installed it on this dinosaur, because I saw some people in Aternaville have it and stuff. Soooo, feel free to IM me at mf4rr3ll.
My machine arrived today, as I was waiting around and fretting. It came in pretty late in the day, so I thought I might have to wait until tomorrow, but then a knock came on the door. I haven't hooked it all up yet, but I figure I'll still be using this tiny neanderthal for the forum stuff, since I'm one lazy hacker.
Going to spend the rest of the night hooking everything up and making sure it's all okay.
Chuck, if you want to come over sometime tomorrow, you can check out my system then. Just let me know whenever.
(( I am SO not the big computer aficiando that Matt is, so I'm going to spend tonight researching an awesome system so I can produce specs for any RP tomorrow. That said, feel free to expound/exagerate/plain-old-make-up facts about Matt's system, Chuck, so as to make it reasonably impressive and useful for hacking/coding/etc etc :O ))

( Just so everyone knows, this is what Matt's cane looks like: )
He doesn't use it all the time, but it's been out more often than not since he moved here, because he's not used to the terrain/icy sidewalks/etc etc. Also the cold makes his knee ache.
For those who were wondering, he uses the cane because last summer his knee got basically shattered to pieces when Thomas Gabriel, hacker-thief extraordinaire, shot it. He had surgery and went through a lot of PT, but he's still recovering.
It's his left knee that got shot and, subsequently, acts up, so the cane is in his right hand. Since he's also right handed, this both makes it easier for him to handle, but also a pain since he often finds himself having to shift things awkwardly in order to use his right hand.
(I moved this from the ooc comm when I realized it was more a good reference for me than anyone else, hahah)

Joe the uncredited plumber to become a WAR CORRESPONDENT
Are you serious. What is wrong with America. What was pjtv.com thinking, hiring this completely unprepared man for this? He's going to get the opinion/experience of the "average joe" over in Iraq? This is just -- I don't even have words.

I know it's cliche, but I can't help but be incredibly into energy drinks and other caffeine filled substances. Although, not every substance. The Warlock sent me some caffeine soap once and that was just weird. Not only because it was the Warlock sending me soap, but ... well, it was strange.
Anyway.
I can't really seem to get into coffee, though. It's always too bitter, or at least it was.
I found a 7-11 today in town and I decided a donut would be right up my alley. Once inside, I saw they also had this huge coffee kiosk with like ten different flavors of drip and also a latte machine thing. The latte machine had a big sign on it, advertising the new VANILLA CUPCAKE LATTE. Okay, so I had to try it.
And fuck this shit is good. It's really like a liquid cupcake. Which is strange. But it's very sweet and not a hint of the bitter coffee taste. I think I have a new favorite caffeinated beverage of choice. Although Red Bull is still good for a quick fix.
The donut wasn't bad, either, btw.

Using Windows gives me a headache.
Can't wait until my machine arrives. Sure, it's cool that all homes and whatever in Aternaville come complete with a computer decent enough to at least open up Internet Explorer, but holy shit. I hate Windows. And it's not like I can reconfigure this little beast, so mine better arrive really soon.
